Jutras Lab on physics and marine biogeochemistry

Science in society

Environmental sciences belong not only within academic circles. They should also serve to inform decision-makers and make the world greener. Here are some initiatives aimed at doing just that.

Initiatives

Mobilization to establish a climate training for members of the Assemblée nationale du Québec

In Spring 2022, I mobilized around twenty specialists in climate, biodiversity, and energy transition to advocate for a climate training for members of the Assemblée nationale du Québec, following a similar initiative in France. This effort resulted in a motion from the elected party requesting that Ouranos, the Comité consultatif sur les changements climatiques du Québec, and Quebec's Chief Scientist provide such a training.
